Mt. Fuji from Four Angles: the Short Car Tour
The Fuji tour that fits a normal call: four hours from the pier and back, per-person pricing, and seats on most cruise days.
It starts by the cruise terminal — no transport needed
- It meets you at Hinode Pier — the guide waits with a name board — and ends there, so there is nothing to arrange.
- Four hours, not seven: it fits a 07:00–15:00 call with the hour before all-aboard kept free.
- Priced per person, so two people pay for two seats, not a whole van.
- Rated 5.0 on Viator at our October 2026 check, from the same operator as the All-About Mt. Fuji short tour.
Couples and solo travellers on a 6–9 hour call who want Mt. Fuji close up without a full-day drive.
The viewpoints are chosen on the day for the weather, and the mountain can still hide. Lunch is not included — eat at the market before or after.
What the day is
A guide-driver meets you at Hinode Pier and drives you to Mt. Fuji viewpoints that big coaches cannot reach. The operator lists four kinds of stop:
- A historic view of the mountain, loved for over 400 years.
- Fuji with the Shinkansen passing below it.
- Fuji over green tea fields.
- The World Heritage Centre, Shiraito Falls or another Fuji site, chosen for the day’s weather.
You are back at the pier about four hours after you set off.
Why it is on this list
Most Fuji tours from Shimizu run six to seven hours. That rules out most calls once you keep an hour before all-aboard. This one is four hours, so a 07:00–15:00 call works.
It also has seats. On the coming calls, the seven-hour shared tours fill early; this one shows space on most cruise dates. Each date it fits is listed on this page.
Before you book
- Start times: several each morning and early afternoon; take the first one after your ship is cleared.
- What is included: an English-speaking guide, an air-conditioned vehicle and basic insurance. Lunch is not.
- Cancellation: full refund up to 24 hours before the start.
- If Fuji hides: the guide changes the stops for the weather. The tea fields and Shiraito Falls are worth seeing without the summit.
