The original resting place of shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu — a National Treasure in lacquer and gold, clinging to a cliff over the Pacific. Reached by a spectacular ropeway from Nihondaira. Inside the grounds there are ~250 stone steps; magnificent, but plan around mobility.
